Family Bio.
I was born August 1975 to Earl and Carol Emert. Stephanie was born in August the following year to Ercel and Cathey Lewis. Though we were both born to parents who loved and served the Lord Stephanie was actually born into missions work and grew up where we are now serving.
Our first meeting was in April 1988. My mother was going on a mission trip to Ciudad Victoria Mexico with a group from Church on the Rock in Rockwall , TX lead by Pastor Scott Barnard. I stayed in Stephanie's house and knew that whole week that God was doing something extraordinary in me right then.
I graduated from Greenville Christian High School in 1993 and then attended Christ for the Nations Institue
in Dallas, TX. Six years after my first missions trip in January 1994 Stephanie and I met again at Christ for the Nations. We very quickly knew that we would serve God together as husband and wife.
We were married in May 1995 and had our first son, Jonathan, in February, 1997. At that time we were serving in Redeemed Community Church in Dallas , TX under the leadership of Richard Hanner. We served as leaders in the nursery ministry and the worship team as well. During our 8 years there we had our other 2 children, our second son, Joshua, in October 1999 and then our daughter, Rebecca, in June 2001.
Through all those years every visit to Mexico made us feel more and more that Mexico was our home and we needed to be there so in July of 2004 we packed all our belongings and made the biggest move of our lives .
